Manchester United continued its successive victories in the English Premier League, by defeating its guest Arsenal (3-1), today, Sunday, for the sixth round.
The Red Devils played a big match against the Gunners, the leaders of the standings, led by Dutch coach Eric Ten Hag, who surprised everyone by relying on the newcomer, Brazilian Anthony, in the starting lineup a few days after joining the team.
Ten Hag started the match in a 4-2-3-1 manner, placing Marcus Rashford in the center of the spearhead.
On the other hand, Spanish coach Michael Arteta's method was similar (4-2-3-1), as he continued to rely on Brazilian Gabriel Jesus as an outspoken striker, and behind him were the trio "Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli".
The Red Devils initially dominated the game, with some attempts to score an early goal, at a time when Arsenal could not pose any threat to David de Gea's goal.
And Tin Hag's dependence appeared on the right front, which was occupied by Dalot and Anthony, as he tried to break through the Gunners' defense throughout the first half from that side.
killer spaces
But with the passage of time, Arsenal tightened its grip on the match, and began to creep into the United penalty area comfortably, which left empty spaces in the back line, which the hosts succeeded in exploiting.
The first goal for United came from a quick attack, which saw the emergence of voids in the Arsenal defense, which Rashford exploited with a silk pass towards Anthony, who deposited the ball into the net successfully.
Arsenal continued to dominate the game in the second half, while Tin Hag, the scorer, withdrew the lead for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bukayo Saka managed to adjust the score for the Gunners, but the Arteta battalion did not fall back after the equalizer, but continued the attack in order to score the second goal, while United resorted to the bloc in front of the penalty area.
This offensive rush increased the vast spaces in the Arsenal back line, which the United players invested again with through passes, to score two goals that killed Rashford.
And the owners of the land could have added more goals, because of this reckless rush of the gunners, as the last minutes witnessed some missed opportunities, which deprived the Red Devils of a wide victory.
