Leipzig qualified for the second round of the German Cup, by defeating its host Teutonia Hamburg 8-0, today, Tuesday, in the first round.
And German international striker Timo Werner played the championship role in Leipzig's victory by scoring a hat-trick in the first half.
The first half of the match ended with Leipzig leading by four, Werner scored 3 goals in the 19th, 20th and 42nd minutes, and Andre Silva scored in the 40th minute.
In the second half, Silva scored his second goal and the fifth for Leipzig in the 53rd minute.
After only 3 minutes, Emil Forsberg scored the sixth goal, then Christopher Nkunku and Dani Olmo scored the seventh and eighth goals in the 77th and 90th minutes.
